February 3-7

Hello Parents:

It is SEP week. School will be dismissed each day, including Wednesday, at 2:30. I am excited to meet with all of you and share your child's progress!

Please remember to send your child to school with appropriate clothing for playing outside. We have outdoor recess even when the weather is cold. Also, will you label your child's clothing with their names? We have a large collection of lost and found clothing items.

Here's What's Happening in...

MATH:
We have started chapter 7. This chapter deals with multiplication of fractions. Students seem to be understanding the concepts being taught. If they need help, I do early morning math groups Monday-Thursday from 8:15-8:45. Even if your child rides the bus, they are still able to work with me in the morning to complete assignments and ask questions.

CKLA:
We are writing a persuasive essay on Don Quixote. Students will be finishing this by the end of the week.
We are also talking about figurative language by reading Casey at the Bat.
Students will finish Don Quixote this week and we will begin Unit 6: Renaissance next week.

SCIENCE:
Students are currently learning about landforms from Mr. Garfield.

HISTORY:
Students are working toward their Patriot Award.
