September 2-September 6

Hello Parents:

We will be going to Cedar Breaks September 5th. We will leave at 9:00 and will return by 1:30. Students should bring a water bottle with their name on it and a home lunch if they chose that option. Students should wear good shoes for hiking, a hat, sunscreen, and may bring a camera for photos if they would like. I have two parent volunteers and could use one more. If you are able to attend, please contact me ASAP.

Here's What's Happening In...

MATH:
We will have our first math test next week. Students will be completing chapter one this week. They are working with expressions. It is vital that students know their multiplication facts. If your child is struggling, please help them memorize their multiplication facts at home. It really makes our math easier.

CKLA:
We will reread Reverend Abbott and Those Bloodshot Eyes this week. We will also finish writing our first drafts of our Personal Narratives. Students will be editing and revising, then publishing their writing by the end of next week.

SCIENCE:
Students are learning about heredity. They will be using a Punnet square to predict outcomes of genetic traits. They will also learn about environmental vs. inherited traits.

HISTORY:
Students are off to a great start with their Patriot Award!

We have started Lexia. If your child has more than 40 minutes to complete each week, will you please have them log on and work at home.
