Hello Parents!
We will be visiting SUMA on Monday @ 9:00. Please make sure your child is at school on time.
Friday we will have book club. I am providing a baked potato bar for students who read a historical fiction book and would like to participate. We will also have a going away party for Ms. Michalla, as Friday will be her last day in our classroom.
We are collecting donations for Operation Christmas Child. If you would like to donate, I would greatly appreciate it. We are filling a box for a girl and boy ages 5-9. Donations would include bar soap, a comb, toothbrush, small toys, socks, etc. Please no liquids, deodorants, or anything perishable.
Here's What's Happening In...
MATH:
We will be completing Chapter 5 this week. I hope to have our test on Friday. We are dividing with decimals.
CKLA:
We will also be finishing up our unit on poetry this week. We will begin our unit on House on Mango Street Monday. Watch for your student's poetry journal to come home. They have written amazing poems!
We are also going to start our opinion essay this week. Students will be collecting evidence and using that evidence to back up a claim. We will complete this essay before Christmas.
SCIENCE:
Students have finished their unit on chemistry. They will begin rotating to Mrs. Hunter for magnetism and electricity this week.
HISTORY:
Students are still working toward their Patriot Award!
